Version 2.00 for macOS - Icon Explorer, Colors Panel, and Automatic Updates

Axialis IconVectors 2.00 is now available for macOS on Intel and Apple silicon. It brings the full 2.00 feature set that shipped for Windows on September 3: the Icon Explorer workspace with built-in file management and Batch Processing, the new Colors panel, Even-Odd and Non-Zero fill rules, a Control Bar that adapts to what you are doing, and the 155-tool MCP server. It also adds something the Mac version did not have before: automatic in-app updates.

Install it once from the download page. From 2.00 on, that is the last DMG you handle by hand; later versions arrive through the built-in updater. IconVectors 2.00 for Linux is coming soon.

The toolbar carries the file commands (New Folder, Copy, Paste, Duplicate, Rename, Group in Folder, Batch Processing), and the volume buttons (Macintosh HD, BOOTCAMP) take the place of the Windows drive letters.

Automatic updates from 2.00 on

IconVectors 2.00 for macOS ships with an automatic update system built on Sparkle, the open-source update framework used by many Mac applications. When a new version is out, IconVectors tells you, downloads it, and replaces itself; you relaunch and you are on the new version. No DMG to fetch, nothing to drag into Applications, no settings lost on the way.

This applies to every version after 2.00. Because 1.70 does not have the updater yet, 2.00 itself is installed from the DMG one last time; after that, Help -> Check for Updates and the periodic check handle the rest.

A faster color workflow

The Colors panel keeps a color of its own, separate from the selection: dial it in with the field, the hue strip or a typed HEX, RGB or HSL value, then click through as many elements as you like, left for Fill and right for Stroke. Recent colors stay one click away, and the PALETTES page keeps the palette commands you already use.
