Version 2.10 for Linux - 14 Batch Commands, Explorer Workflow, and 166 MCP Tools

Axialis IconVectors 2.10 is now available for Linux x64, as a DEB package for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or later with GTK3. It completes the 2.10 rollout after Windows on October 6 and macOS on October 13, with the same feature set: the Icon Explorer grows from three Batch Processing commands to 14, the Explorer-to-Editor workflow is greatly improved with New Icon and Auto Save Icons, the Element Library gets search, the Editor receives many fixes and enhancements, and the MCP server exposes 166 tools.

To update, download the latest DEB from the download page and install it over your current version; sign in again if the application asks you to. New users install the same package. Version 2.10 is now available on all three platforms.

Installing and updating on Linux

Download the DEB and install it with sudo apt install ./Axialis-IconVectors.deb, or open it in your software manager, then launch IconVectors from the applications menu. The same package installation moves an existing 2.00 installation to 2.10, and it is the process to use for future updates as well. The package targets Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or later with GTK3; the download page has the full steps and the uninstall command.

What's new in 2.10 for Linux

14 batch commands

Each command runs the Editor's own transformation on every selected SVG file. Three of them write new files and leave the sources alone; the others modify the selection after a preview you confirm.

Working between Explorer and Editor has never been easier

Version 2.10 greatly improves the workflow between the two workspaces. Browse your collection, open an icon, make your changes, and move on to the next file with fewer interruptions. New Icon starts a document that already knows its folder, so Save goes where you expect. With Auto Save Icons on, a review pass through a folder becomes open, edit, open the next. Closing an icon opened from the Explorer returns you to the Explorer with its folder, filter and selection intact, so you stay focused on the icons rather than on managing files.

Many fixes and enhancements throughout the Editor

Beyond the new features, 2.10 makes everyday icon work more predictable. Path editing handles curves, corners and anchor selections more reliably, pasted elements stay selected together for easier positioning, and badge cutout and shadow operations each undo as a single action. SVG import and rendering have been improved too, including gradients, currentColor inheritance and group opacity, and bitmap export benefits from fixes to output-folder creation.

A faster workflow for colors

The panel keeps one defined color of its own, independent of the selection: dial it in with the field, the hue strip or a typed HEX, RGB or HSL value, then click through as many elements as you like. The Recent row collects the swatches you used, and the PALETTES page keeps the palette commands you already know. The screen eyedropper that arrived with 2.10 on Windows and macOS needs its own capture and permission support on Linux and is not in this build yet.

MCP: 166 tools

The MCP helper is installed as /usr/bin/IconVectorsMcp, so the setup for the eight documented clients is unchanged on Linux. An MCP client can now run every batch command, on explicit file paths or the current Explorer selection, with the same preview and safeguards as the UI. Start each session with app_ping, which now reports the requested and actual ports, and expect an ambiguous_element_id error with candidates when an id is not unique.
