Version 2.10 for macOS - 14 Batch Commands, Explorer Workflow, and 166 MCP Tools
Axialis IconVectors 2.10 is now available for macOS on Intel and Apple silicon. It brings the 2.10 feature set that shipped for Windows on October 6: the Icon Explorer grows from three Batch Processing commands to 14, the Explorer gets New Icon and Auto Save Icons, the Element Library gets search, the Colors panel applies Fill and Stroke directly, and the MCP server exposes 166 tools.
If you run 2.00, there is nothing to download: Help -> Check for Updates installs 2.10 in place through the built-in updater, settings and recent files included. New users install from the download page. IconVectors 2.10 for Linux is coming soon.
An update, not an install
2.10 is the first macOS release delivered through the automatic update system that arrived with 2.00. IconVectors checks periodically, tells you when a version is out, downloads it and replaces itself; you relaunch and you are on 2.10. Choose Help -> Check for Updates if you do not want to wait for the next check. The DMG on the download page is for first installs only.
What's new in 2.10 for macOS
- 14 batch commands - Add Badge Overlays, Adjust Icon Colors, Apply Auto Gradient, Apply Palette, Center and Fit, Change Line Stroke, Convert to currentColor, Make Icon Versions, Make PNG, ICO Bitmap Icons, Optimize SVG Files, Outline Strokes, Replace Colors, Resize Icons and Rotate / Flip, from the Explorer menu, the context menu or the toolbar. Each one is listed below.
- Batch options that stay out of your way - Settings are remembered as soon as you enter them, previews have a Back button, suffixes can be empty when paths stay safe, and diagnostics say why a file was skipped instead of hiding it.
- New Icon and Auto Save Icons - New Icon creates a document that saves into the current Explorer folder. Explorer -> Auto Save Icons (off by default) saves the edited icon when you open the next one, and closing an Explorer icon takes you back to the Explorer.
- Keyboard and wheel shortcuts - Escape closes an idle document, the wheel zooms or scrolls horizontally with a modifier held, and Bring Up and Send Down have keyboard shortcuts.
- Colors panel gestures - Picking a color in the field, the hue strip or the swatches applies it at once: left-click to Fill, right-click to Stroke. The screen eyedropper introduced on Windows is not part of the macOS build yet; the panel's eyedropper button explains this rather than returning a wrong color.
- Element Library search - Type to filter the current tab by name or filename. The popup stays on screen, and the folder button opens the library in the built-in Explorer.
- Path Editor and compound path fixes - Hidden and zero-size paths, Bezier handles, seam corners, corner rounding and anchor selection behave correctly; released compound paths keep their curves.
- Paste, badge and geometry fixes - Pasted elements stay selected and land in a sensible place, badge cutout and shadow undo as one step, and geometry operations reject invalid coordinates.
- SVG import, export and rendering fixes - Better oversized-canvas conversion, CDATA stylesheet and gradient import, gradient cleanup, currentColor and group-opacity rendering, and multi-bitmap export into new folders.
- MCP: 166 tools - Up from 155. All 14 batch commands run through the same plan-then-apply protocol as the UI, and ICO export accepts chosen pixel sizes with 32-bit transparency.
- Bridge diagnostics and safe targeting - A busy port is detected and a loopback fallback discovered (default stays 61337),
app_pingis the real health check, and duplicate element IDs are reported instead of silently picked.
14 batch commands
Each command runs the Editor's own transformation on every selected SVG file. Three of them write new files and leave the sources alone; the others modify the selection after a preview you confirm.
- Add Badge Overlays - Combines every selected base icon with every badge you add, with position, size, margin and an optional cutout, one new file per pair.
- Adjust Icon Colors - Applies one brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, levels, desaturate or invert setting to all selected icons.
- Apply Auto Gradient - Turns each flat paint into a light-to-dark gradient of its own color; existing gradients and currentColor are kept unless you say otherwise.
- Apply Palette - Maps every color to the nearest color of an installed palette.
- Center and Fit - Centers the artwork on its canvas, or fits it to the canvas.
- Change Line Stroke - Sets width, cap, join and color, or currentColor, on existing strokes.
- Convert to currentColor - Replaces solid fills and strokes with the symbolic keyword, all of them or one chosen color.
- Make Icon Versions - Writes Hot, Disabled and Dark Theme variants next to the originals, with the suffixes you choose.
- Make PNG, ICO Bitmap Icons - Renders PNG files at the sizes you list and one multi-size 32-bit ICO per icon.
- Optimize SVG Files - Compacts markup, hex colors and path numbers, and only rewrites a file when the result is smaller.
- Outline Strokes - Converts strokes to filled paths, in place or as copies.
- Replace Colors - Swaps one exact RGB color, chosen from the colors detected in the selection, for another.
- Resize Icons - Resizes every icon the way the Editor's resize command does.
- Rotate / Flip - Rotates by a preset or free angle, or mirrors horizontally or vertically.
From Explorer to Editor and back
New Icon starts a document that already knows its folder, so Save goes where you expect. With Auto Save Icons on, a review pass through a folder becomes open, edit, open the next. Closing an Explorer icon returns you to the Explorer with its folder, filter and selection intact.
The Colors panel
The panel keeps one defined color of its own, independent of the selection. Dial it in once, then click through as many elements as you like. The Recent row collects the swatches you used, and the PALETTES page keeps the palette commands you already know.
MCP: 166 tools
The MCP helper ships inside the application bundle, so the setup for the eight documented clients is unchanged on macOS. An MCP client can now run every batch command, on explicit file paths or the current Explorer selection, with the same preview and safeguards as the UI. Start each session with app_ping, which now reports the requested and actual ports, and expect an ambiguous_element_id error with candidates when an id is not unique.
