Working with the Explorer

Use the Icon Explorer to find, review and organize SVG icons without leaving IconVectors. Your Editor document stays open while you browse, so you can switch between managing files and editing artwork.

Choose a topic below:

  • Browsing folders and selecting icons explains opening folders, navigation history, thumbnail sizes and backgrounds, filename filtering and multiple selection. Start here to find the icons you want to edit or process.

  • Working between Explorer and Editor covers opening icons, workspace shortcuts, creating an icon in the current folder, Auto Save Icons and working in separate windows. Use it to build a fast browse-edit-save workflow.

  • Managing files and drag and drop explains new folders, copying, duplication, renaming, deletion and drag and drop. These commands operate on files on disk, rather than on the elements inside your open document.

For example, open a folder, filter by part of a filename, and double-click an icon to edit it. Press F5 to return to the same Explorer view. To apply one operation to several selected icons, continue with Batch Processing.
